Student Profile Notes

2 min. readlast update: 02.18.2026
Student Profile Notes are flexible and always accessible, making it easy to jot down quick reminders or insights that don’t belong in formal data or session logs.

The Notes section in a student’s profile is designed to document general, non-instructional information—like student preferences, brainstorming ideas for future goals, teacher/parent communication logs, or other relevant context that supports individualized care and planning.

✨ Where to Find It

  1. Navigate to the Students tab from your dashboard.

  2. Click on a student’s name to open their Student Profile.

  3. Below the Student Details box—you’ll see the Notes section.

🧾 How to Use It

  • The Notes box includes six formatting options: bold, italics, underline, hyperlink, and a bulleted or numbered list.

  • As you type, the text box autosaves and expands vertically—no need to scroll or resize manually.

✅ Best Practices

  • Keep notes FERPA-safe: Avoid using full student names or sensitive identifiers if you’re sharing with others.

  • Use bullet points to organize ideas clearly (e.g., preferences, accommodations, brainstorms).

  • Update regularly: Add context after IEP meetings, informal check-ins, or team discussions.

🔒 Privacy & Access

The Notes section is visible to all team members who have access to the student’s profile with a Guest Account. It is not tied to any instructional event or session, and serves as an open-ended workspace.

🙋 FAQs

Q: Can I delete or archive old notes?
A: Currently, the Notes section is a continuous log—editing and removing content is manual. We recommend using dates or headers to separate updates.

Q: Can notes be tagged or categorized?
A: Not at this time. Consider adding section headers (e.g., “Preferences,” “Brainstorm,” “Parent Communication”) for quick reference.

Q: Can I download or print student notes?

A: Student profile notes are printable currently, but you can upvote that feature here or copy/paste those into a doc or take a screenshot
